What characters !
The sculptured forms of my delightful characters give soul to my series of “Threads”. Once again I have gone to the portraits to develop my vision of who and what and where I am in the path of life. The thread that I continue to follow is woven into fabric to make an exciting tapestry. The thread can be cut and unraveled, painted over and under but still remains true to itself. Each of the characters “is”.
My ancestors have played a large part in the development of each painting. The strength, whimsy, feminine, masculine or warrior in me has come through in each of the portraits. They have a voice. They speak with the voice of the character they belong to. Listen.
My work is still abstract but in the Post Modern. My message is to feel and listen and see what we are all about on our journey into our soul. I want my unconscious to communicate with my conscious to understand the connection.
This is the “Thread” of my life.
